Regardless of their location, do any of my peers here know journalist(s) interested in sustainability and cause related businesses? If so, can you turn them onto T&B or provide their contact information to me?
Thanks, t.

Whew Gary. Someone at Face book should change their default text from grey to black and from 6 font to at least 12 for our various over 40 year old eyes! So tell me what someone who is a mediation expert does to bring sustainability issues to 'the table'? (An interest not teasing you.)
All best,
Teresa

About Me:
Platinum Winner 2007 Hermes Creative Awards (Association of Marketing & Communications Professionals) for Thistle & Broom.

I am a marketing communications professional of more than 23 years primarily working in high tech. I got it in my head that if we could consume hundreds of millions of pounds of Fair Trade coffee then why couldn't we apply the Fair Trade model along with an ethos of sustainability (both of doing no harm as well as preservation of the environment and our cultural heritage) against the ever insatiable luxury goods market and so, Thistle & Broom was born.

I believe that I have created the the worlds' first sustainable luxury brand in Thistle & Broom. At first those two terms - sustainable and luxury - might seem at odds with one another but in our globalised world economy I have come to believe that sustainability might be our ultimate luxury. Moreover Thistle & Broom, in contrast with other luxury brands, is geopolitically focused upon delivering extraordinary products from only one country of origin, Scotland. The range serves to positively impact the economy of Western Europe's (according to the OECD) poorest nation whilst capitalising upon a strength of exquisitely crafted merchandise against the luxury goods market segment.

The homogenisation of whole societies in the wake of our globalised economy is causing the disappearance of the utterly unique aspects of our cultural heritage. Whilst my effort is geo-politically exclusive to Scotland there is nothing preventing the duplication of my effort to preserve the cultural integrity of small microcosms of various countries around the world and in doing so create economic value in the process.

Thistle & Broom rant on 'leveraged' marketing

Way back (as it seems) in 2002 I told friends upon my return from my first trip to Scotland "mark my words, Scotland is about to become hipper than she has been since Victoria sat on the throne" - they thought I was nuts. Here's Western Europe's poorest nation (according to the OECD stats) and how on Earth was it going to become cool? and marketable? Yet I set forth into unknown territories and created the world's first sustainable luxury brand (sustain the planet, sustain the cultural identity,… Continue
